Israeli Ground Forces Moving into Gaza Strip

(TEL AVIV) - Israeli Defense ground forces began to move into the Gaza Strip on Thursday evening, the prime minister's office confirmed.

Diplomatic officials said the security cabinet's decision to halt the operation at this point will give Israel international legitimacy to continue it widespread military action if Hamas does not stop its rocket attacks.

(NEW YORK) - Jerusalem and Washington are trying to prevent the UN Security Council from condemning Israel’s air offensive in the Gaza Strip, in which dozens of Palestinian civilians have been killed, Israeli diplomats said Thursday. The Security Council is due to meet at 9:00 a.m. EST time to discuss the fighting between Israel and Hamas.

On Wednesday delegates from Muslim countries met with Rwanda’s ambassador, who currently holds the Security Council’s rotating presidency. The delegates were granted their request for an emergency meeting on the escalation in Gaza, part of which will be open.

Israel Takes Down Two Rockets Fired from Gaza

Israel says Hamas has fired more than 130 rockets into civilian areas since Monday night.

(TEL AVIV, Israel) - Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted two rockets over Tel Aviv fired from the Gaza Strip.

The interception over central Israel occurred on Tuesday evening, according to media reports. Color Red alert sirens had been heard throughout the Gush Dan area of central Israel, including Herzliya.

Israel Attacks Hamas Targets After Missing Teens Found Dead

(TEL AVIV, Israel ) - Israeli naval boats have struck alleged training facilities of Hamas militants in northern Gaza after the bodies of three abducted teenagers were found.

The attacks followed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's vow that "Hamas will pay" for the slayings in the West Bank. The bodies of Eyal Yifrah, 19, Gilad Shaar, 16, and Naftali Frankel, 16, were found in a field north of the city of Hebron.

(GAZA ) - Israeli aircraft attacked at least six militant targets in the Gaza Strip on Sunday, hours after rockets fired from the Palestinian territory set a factory in Israel on fire, Israeli and Palestinian officials said.

Palestinian medics said two people were wounded in air strikes on eight sites. Israeli officials said only six sites were bombed.
