Role of UN`s own Review Panel Head Scrutinized

Petrie’s working for the Norwegian government while at the same time working for the UN panel could be in conflict with the UN Charter depending on how it is interpreted.

(COLOMBO Daily Mirror) - Charles Petrie The head of the Norwegian government-funded peace initiative for Burma’s ethnic areas, Charles Petrie, is facing scrutiny after it was revealed last week that he is simultaneously working on an unrelated United Nation’s review panel looking into the Sri Lankan civil war.

An article posted last Friday suggests that Petrie’s involvement with the ambitious Norwegian project may run afoul of UN rules forbidding staff from being employed or under the influence of the governments of UN member states.

Thirty two officers of church and state have been issued Public Summonses by our Court.

The Court will convene as planned on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 9 am pacific time.

(BRUSSELS) - Scales of justice Thirty two officials of church and state were issued official Public Summonses by our Prosecutor's Office on September 21, 2012 to respond to charges made against them. They were given ten working days to reply, and that period of time has now elapsed.

As of today, only one response has been received by the persons named in these Summonses, from Dr. John Milloy, a researcher for the Canadian government's so-called "truth and reconciliation commission".

The people are undergoing hard times due to lack of job opportunities and need help, sources report.

(RANGOON, Burma) - Salem-News.com Many of the refugees, who have been sent to back to their places from Maungtaw rescue camps, are in dire need of food and clothing, according to volunteers.

The resettlement of 2,286 refugees from 549 households began in the first week of September and ended on September 19.
