Global Intifada Reaches the US

700 “arrested” in New York and protests spread to many cities around the US.

(BETHLEHEM) - Salem-News.com Every day brings some good news on the shaking of the status quo in a positive direction. In my last book and in my writings elsewhere, I predicted that the next intifada (uprising) would be global.

The Wandering Who is Out This Week

"It is no secret that some very forceful elements have been investing a lot of effort trying to stop the book and its message. So far, they have failed." - Gilad Atzmon

(LONDON) - Salem-News.com A wave of understanding accompanies Gilad Atzmon's new book, 'The Wandering Who' and it is no wonder that his opponents, who support apartheid laws in Israel, are fuming. Truth is a dangerous drug and Gilad overdosed his share of readers with this one.

Gilad is only one of Salem-News.com's writers who doubles as an author, but none have drawn the response that we are seeing with this clever-titled book that rips the lid off of the racism that sets the stage for Israel's very existence.

Why Israel Can`t be `A Jewish State`

The Israeli demand to be recognised as a "Jewish state" by the Palestinians is an inherently problematic concept.

(DUBAI) - 1.6bn Muslims and 2.4bn Christians regard Jerusalem as holy, which is about 55 per cent of the world's population [EPA] The Israeli government's current mantra is that the Palestinians must recognise a "Jewish State". Of course, the Palestinians have clearly and repeatedly recognised the State of Israel as such in the 1993 Oslo Accords (which were based on an Israeli promise to establish a Palestinian state within five years - a promise now shattered) and many times since.

Recently, however, Israeli leaders have dramatically and unilaterally moved the goal-posts and are now clamouring that Palestinians must recognise Israel as a "Jewish State".

(DURA AL KARA, Occupied Palestine) - Israel's special treatment of Palestinian Saturday October 1st in the Valley behind the village of Dura al Kara, a group of twenty locals, internationals, men, women and children, experienced rocks falling from the sky. Except, it was not. It was a group of five teenage settlers from Beit Eil.

They were directly above us and threw stones in the size of a fist down upon us. We took cover. Which place was safe, we had no idea.

Chomsky on `Occupy Wall Street` and Israel Imminent Collapse

In an interview with RT’s Marina Portnaya, prominent scholar Professor Noam Chomsky gives his take on some of the world’s political hot topics.

(ALEXANDRIA, Egypt) - Noam Chomsky Chomsky vividly shares his reflections on the wall street protests and warns of an impending serious poverty and real unemployment similar to the great depression.

He talks about the 2012 American presidential campaign spending and how positions in both the white house and the congress are being bought, not earned and he refers to the killing of Osama Bin Laden and how this marks a shift of American policy from Bush’s abducting and torturing whoever the CIA thought posed a threat to the U.S to Obama’s “just kill `em when you spot `em” approach regardless of the legalities overlooked in the process.

`Peace Talks` and the Pieces of the Holy Land

A year ago the Palestinians walked away from the “peace talks” after a 10-month Israeli moratorium on settlement construction expired.

(JERUSALEM) - Israeli F-16 On Tuesday Israel announced plans for 1,100 new Jewish only housing units in the south Jerusalem settlement of Gilo, which is outside of the 1967 boundaries.

Gilo was conquered from Jordan in the 1967 War, along with East Jerusalem and the West Bank, and Israel later annexed it to the city of Jerusalem, a step that has never been recognized internationally, for every settlement is illegal under international law.
