Wild Pitch Dooms Volcanoes

It's FREE baseball giveaway night Saturday at Volcanoes Stadium.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - Salem Keizer Volcanoes Eugene walked off with the 5-4 win via a E.J. Eincinosa wild pitch with two outs in the bottom of the 10th inning Friday night in front of 2,765 inside PK Park.

Joey Epperson lead off the bottom of the 10th inning with a walk by Dusten Knight, followed by a sacrifice bunt by River Stephens that put the runner at second base.

The Volcanoes look to continue a hot start to the second half with a trip north to Try-City to face the 3-5 Dust Devils.

After scoring nine runs in the series opener, Salem-Keizer picked up right where it left off on Monday night.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Salem Keizer Volcanoes Great pitching and tremendous offense have been reoccurring themes for the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, during a second half of the season in which they have won five of their first six games.

The Volcanoes' offense produced 10 hits, and Jason Forjet allowed just three runs in six innings, as Salem-Keizer defeated the Eugene Emeralds 5-3 at Volcanoes Stadium.

Salem-Keizer Volcaones Rock Eugene, 9-1

The Volcanoes improved to 5-1 in second half play, continuing to pace the Northwest League South Division.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Salem Keizer Volcanoes The Volcanoes didn't take batting practice prior to Sunday evening's game versus Eugene, but they definitely got their swings in en route to a 9-1 blowout victory in the series opener.

Salem-Keizer recorded a season-high hit total of 17 including at least one hit from everyone in the lineup and five multi-hit efforts.

Volcanoes Use 4-Run Rally to Defeat Eugene

The Volcanoes head north to Hillsboro to battle the first place Hops Friday night.

(KEIZER, Ore. ) - Salem Keizer Volcanoes Thursday night provided a back and forth contest at Volcanoes Stadium, but Salem-Keizer was able to break through permanently with a four run rally in the bottom of the sixth, as the Volcanoes defeated the Eugene Emeralds 6-5.

Two of those runs came off the bat of Tyler Hollick, who slapped a double down the left field line with two outs.

Emeralds Hold Off Volcanoes, 8-6

Coming off of three impressive outings, Drew Leenhouts struggled from the get-go.

With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Marcus Davis drew a five-pitch walk from Steven Neff to avoid the series sweep and snap a 14-game losing streak to Salem-Keizer.

The Volcanoes' bullpen tossed eight scoreless innings allowing just one hit, and Fernando Pujadas led off the 14th inning with a home run to left field, as the Volcanoes topped the Eugene Emeralds 5-4 in 14 innings.
