(EUGENE, Ore.) - Ron Maurer is the challenger for the state's top educator; held for several years by former TV Reporter Susan Castillo. On May 18 Oregon must choose its Superintendent of Education. There are two fine candidates this time for the most essential leader charged with directing and further developing the most essential public service we enjoy. One has already “been there, done that”.

The other seeks “make do with less” for a system now becoming notorious for its obvious current short-fall in some few schools.

Ducks Miss Series Sweep with Game 3 Loss to No. 1 UCLA

Oregon returns home to PK Park on Friday to host a three-game series with USC beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

It could have just been the beautiful weather, but everybody seemed pretty happy, even if they were carrying around signs heralding impending bankruptcy, slavery, and doom.

The global cannabis community mourns the loss of the great Jack Herer.

(SALEM, Ore.) - Jack Herer The sad news has been confirmed. Jack Herer, author of The Emperor Wears No Clothes and renowned around the world for hemp activism, has died today, in Eugene, Oregon.

Jack Herer suffered a heart attack last September just after speaking on stage at the Portland HempStalk festival.

Eugene Police and OSP Seeking Information to Help Find Missing Eugene Man Whose Pickup was Found South of Gold Beach

(EUGENE, Ore.) - mark rees Police, are asking for the public's help to find a missing Eugene-area man whose pickup was found abandoned at a southern Oregon coast public wayside on Highway 101 about nine miles south of Gold Beach.

49-year old Mark J. Rees of Eugene, was reported missing by his ex-wife April 11, 2010 to Eugene Police Department after she learned Rees failed to pay rent to his landlord.
