The legislation was added to WRDA as part of a broader amendment agreed to by Democratic and Republican leaders on the Environment and Public Works Committee.

Mosier Train Derailment Environmental Cleanup Progressing

(MOSIER, Ore.) - On June 3, sixteen tanker cars carrying Bakken crude oil derailed, four of those cars caught fire releasing an estimated 42,000 gallons of crude oil into the environment.

The cars were part of a 96-car train carrying Bakken crude oil to Tacoma, Wash.

Smoke Plume was Prescribed Burn of 116-acres in Hwy 6 Corridor

This broadcast burn produced a very large column of smoke visible throughout Washington County and potentially neighboring counties.

(TILLAMOOK, Ore.) - The Oregon Department of Forestry conducted a prescribed burn today on a 116-acre site on the Tillamook State Forest near Browns Camp in the Highway 6 corridor.
