Investigation Leads to Drug Arrests, Seized Children, and Recovered Stolen Property

(Keizer) - Officers in Keizer seized several children late Thursday night after investigators determined that they were left in a position where they could access drugs including methamphetamine. Two Keizer residents and two people listed as transients were arrested on drug charges and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, from two separate locations.

Police say items seized included a child`s baby bottle that had been converted to a smoking device for drugs.

West Salem Residents Need to Beware of Hypodermic Needles

(Salem) - 75 hypodermic needles found in a West Salem neighborhood early Saturday afternoon have alarmed fire officials in Salem who are asking residents to use extreme caution, even if they simply take a walk down the sidewalk.

The plan is for both parties to discuss the methamphetamine issue from an international perspective, and to build a stronger relationship between the consulate and Marion County.
