Marion County Adding Extra Patrols for 4th of July Weekend

The extra patrols will be focusing on detecting and arresting impaired drivers.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Marion County Sheriff The Marion County Sheriff's Office will be adding extra patrols over the 4th of July weekend thanks to grants made possible thru the Oregon State Sheriff's Association.

With the warm weather and the holiday weekend comes the increased usage of our roadways to access our waterways, parks and rural camping areas.

Police Asking for Help Locating Missing SE Portland Man

According to family, this behavior is very out of character and they are concerned for his welfare.

(PORTLAND, Ore. ) - Portland Missing Person The Portland Police Bureau's Missing Persons Unit is asking for the public's help in locating missing 51-year-old John Anthony O'Malley.

O'Malley left his home in the 11400 block of Southwest Oak Creek Drive in the Arnold Creek neighborhood on a walk on Sunday afternoon and never returned.

A seriously injured juvenile male was found near the Pavilion with multiple stab wounds.

(CHIBOK, Nigeria) - Nigera Islamist Militants Suspected Islamist militants killed dozens of people in an attack on three Nigerian villages, including one targeting worshippers at a church, a few miles from Chibok, the scene of an abduction of more than 200 school girls.

Residents said the gunmen riding on motorcycles opened fire on worshippers and pursued them as they tried to flee into the surrounding bush. The attackers hurled explosives into churches as services were ongoing and torched several buildings, witnesses said on Sunday.

Through interviewing those involved, deputies located the shotgun believed to have been used in this incident, as well as a stolen rifle.

Benghazi Attack Supected Ringleader Pleads Not Guilty

The investigation is ongoing and the Justice Department can bring additional charges on the Libyan man.

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) - Ahmed Abu Khatallah Ahmed Abu Khatallah, the alleged suspect of the deadly attacks on a U.S. diplomatic facility in Benghazi, Libya, in 2012, entered a not guilty plea in federal court in Washington on Saturday.

According to court sources, prosecutors also unveiled a one count grand jury indictment charging him with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorism resulting in death. The crime is punishable by up to life in prison, or death.

Deputies used recycling records to locate and arrest 42-year-old Randall Kuschnick of Woodburn for the thefts.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Oregon Cemetery Robber A Woodburn man has been arrested for stealing metal flower pots and 300 feet of fencing wire from a cemetery in rural Marion County.

Marion County Sheriff's Spokesman Stg. Chris Baldridge said, "you would think after thirteen years of law enforcement that the shock factor would be gone, but that certainly was not the case when reviewing this case on June 25."

(ABUJA, Nigeria) - Nigeria Mall Bomb Twenty-one people were confirmed killed in yet another bomb explosion that rocked a major shopping mall in Wuse 2, Abuja, on Wednesday afternoon.

An eyewitness, who said he observed the scene about 50 meters away from the blast, claimed that two young men on a bike rode by and dropped the 'package' in a sac-like container and then sped off five minutes after the blast occurred.
