(JAFFNA, Sri Lanka TamilNet) - Salem-News.com Tamil journalists came together Monday in Jaffna with civil society members and student representatives of Jaffna University, to pay tribute to the slain war correspondent in Syria, Marie Colvin.

Paying floral tribute, the event, organized by Nimalarajan Memorial Foundation, remembered the late Marie Colvin as a Journalist Friend of Tamils.

Gunmen executing people in the streets - Homs eyewitness

Western-backed rebels in Syria are gunning down Christians from rooftops...

(MOSCOW RT) - Members of the Free Syrian Army patrol an area in Qusayr People have been left without water or electricity as rebels destroy water pumps and power converters. Civilians are forced to stay inside as snipers shoot from the rooftops.

RT in Damascus managed to contact an eyewitness in Homs, who says gunmen are killing civilians in the streets. Galina says leaving home is out of the question, as snipers “can shoot you in the back.”

An Open Letter to Congressman Chandler Over Support of War Criminals

No politicians should endorse war crimes.

(HARRISVILLE, NH) - Chandler needs to take a close look at what he supports. Your support of the Sri Lankan war criminals, as evidenced by the letter you recently penned to the President of the United States, is not just surprising, it is repulsive.

That anyone would support a government that takes part in the killing of innocent children is simply not understandable to me. Rape, torture, and mass murder of civilians constitute crimes that must not go unpunished.

RSF Appeals to UNHRC to Denounce Sri Lanka Over Curbing Media Freedom
