Pokemon Go Search Turns Up Loaded Firearm in Field

A surprise "find" for two Pokemon game players.

(CLARK COUNTY, Wash.) - Two young adult brothers hot on the trail of a "Pokémon character" instead came across a loaded handgun lying in a field off Hwy 99 in Hazel Dell.

Without touching the gun, the brothers suspended their GPS search for virtual creatures, called 911 and awaited the arrival of Deputy Brian Wade.

Stranger Danger Alert in Southeast Portland After Several Incidents Involving School Children

If any residents in the area of these incidents have surveillance cameras, investigators are asking them to check for any possible images of the suspect(s).

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - The Portland Police Bureau is asking the community to be aware of several reported incidents where strangers are approaching school children in Southeast Portland.

In the past five days, Youth Services Division officers have taken reports of strangers approaching school children in the areas of Creston School, Ron Russell Middle School, and, Hosford Middle School.

(SALEM, Ore.) - A 9-year old child was walking from his residence to a bus stop near the intersection of Stellars Eagle St NW and Bald Eagle NW at about 8:30 am this morning when he was approached by an unknown male adult who grabbed his arm.

The child was able to pull away from the suspect, who then pushed the child to the ground. The child was able to get up and run away as the suspect followed in his vehicle.

Toddler Shot by Handgun in Face Expected to Live

The child was taken by Life Flight to a Portland hospital.

(MOLALLA, Ore.) - A two-year old girl was accidentally shot in the face on Christmas day.

Clackamas County Detectives responded to the scene and interviewed all involved parties. The investigation showed the child had been shot accidentally while her uncle was cleaning the firearm. She is expected to live after undergoing surgery.

9-Year Old Girl Dies in Lincoln City When Sand Collapses

The child was buried by the sand for about five minutes.

(LINCOLN CITY, Ore.) - A 9-year-old girl who was pulled from the sand after it apparently collapsed on her Friday has died, according to the North Lincoln Fire & Rescue District No. 1. She died at the hospital.

Police officers helped get the girl out of a hole that she was buried in, according to Lt. Jerry Palmer, of the Lincoln City Police Department. He said when they got to her she was unconscious and not breathing.
