Canby Dad Delivers Newborn with a Little Help From a Dispatcher (911 CALL)

Between Captain Val Codino and Paramedic Bob Pulford, the team has delivered or assisted in the delivery of 8 babies in the past.

(CANBY) - Baby and dad holding hands Early Tuesday morning, firefighters and paramedics from Canby Fire District responded to a possible childbirth, located at 650 SE 7th Place in Canby.

Initial dispatch information indicated that the "baby was coming out!"

When firefighters arrived just five minutes later, they found mom, dad, and baby upstairs in the hallway between the bedroom and bathroom.

FOUND: Missing 2-Year Old Boy From Canby

The youngster was found hiding in a dresser in his home.

(CANBY) - Trevor Luttrell Little Trevor Luttrell has been found. Missing since 2:45 PM this afternoon, the two-year old boy was located in his SE Canby home, hiding in a dresser.

The Canby Police and Clackamas County Search and Rescue had been on the lookout for the toddler until just about 4:00 PM, when he was found.

All's well that ends well. And this time, there was a happy ending.

Six Escape Fast Burning Structure Fire in Canby

One of the people who made it out safely was a man who was physically disabled.

(CANBY) - Firefighters were called out early Monday morning to a fire located at 1470 NE 11th Ave, in Canby. When fire crews pulled their apparatus out of the station they reported seeing a large column of smoke and a glow in the sky, "We knew we had a working fire," said first arriving Captain, Chip Bryant.

Division Chief Troy Buzalsky says that upon arrival, crews sized up the situation, which included speaking with the homeowners, Steve and Ronda Stone. The Stone's reported that all 6 people residing in the home had safely escaped… thanks to their smoke alarm,

Families that are sleeping when serious flames break out often don't stand a chance without one.

Canby Man Narrowly Escapes Burning Home and Credits Smoke Alarm for Saving His Life

Amazing photos show house being consumed by flames.

(CANBY) - Canby Fire units rose to the alert of a fire in a residence Tuesday morning at 7:45 AM. Firefighters enroute knew they were going to have a hot one on their hands, spotting a large column on brownish white smoke rising from the location.

As crews closed the gap they could confirm that they had a "Working Fire." In lieu of the geographic location, and enroute resources, a second alarm was requested.

Fire District Division Chief Troy Buzalsky, says the first company on scene reported that they had heavy fire and smoke coming from the front side of the structure.

Canby Man is Critically Burned

(CANBY) - Canby Fire investigators say a 33-year old man working on an older motor home received burns when the motor backfired as he poured gasoline into the carburetor.

Firefighters responded to the scene on South Zimmerman Road Monday at 6:40 PM.

Investigators learned that the man was trying to keep the motor home's motor running but the backfire caused the gas to spill, critically burning the face, arms and chest over approximately 30 % of his body.

Firefighters say they quickly activated a Lifeflight Helicopter to transport the patient to the Oregon burn center for further treatment. Firefighter were on scene for 20 minutes. The man's name was not released by Canby Fire.

Man Arrested in Gulf War Veteran Rape Case

(CANBY) - One man is behind bars, and police are still searching for the other suspects involved in a forceable rape and sex abuse investigation involving a U.S. Air Force Gulf War veteran.

Police arrested 30-year-old Alejandro Ramos-Gonzalez from Canby on First Degree Rape, First Degree Kidnapping, and First Degree Burglary charges. He is logged in the Clackamas County Jail.

Investigators believe this horrible incident is gang related. Police say Ramos-Gonzalez has gang ties.

U.S. Air Force Gulf War Veteran Raped

(CANBY) - Canby police are investigating what they are calling a forcible rape and sex abuse incident.

Police say the alleged rape occurred in the southeast part of Canby between 9:00 PM Friday and 4:00 AM Saturday.

The female victim reported that five males entered her apartment through an open front door and two of them forcibly raped her. No suspects have been arrested in the case as of Sunday morning.

Investigators say they are currently looking into the possibility that this may be a gang-related incident. The 42-year-old woman is a Gulf War veteran who served in the Air Force.

Major Fire Erupts at Biodiesel Manufacturing Site

(CANBY) - At approximately 3:45 PM the Clackamas 911 center received a call for smoke in the area on S Heinze Rd, in the rural area surrounding Canby. Within minutes several calls started to pour into CCOM stating that there was large amounts of Black smoke "Billowing" from a residence located at 9801 S. Heinze Rd.

Canby Fire arrived on scene at 3:55 PM and quickly determined that there was heavy fire involvement to one barn and that flames were threatening a barn 30 feet to the south.

Minutes into fire suppression activities it was apparent that this was no ordinary fire. "We kept sweeping the fire down, and it kept flaring right back," stated Captain Val Codino.

(Canby) - High water was the cause for this accident Tuesday morning. Photo courtesy: Canby Fire High water isn't just in the areas around rivers and creeks. According to the Canby Fire District, the low areas in fields in the Canby area are full of water that is now getting on the roadways. The same is true for much of western Oregon at this time.
