Several Marion County Roads to Get Slurry Seal Application

Streets will be CLOSED! to traffic several hours during the slurry application and curing process.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Marion County Road Work The Marion County Public Works Department wants you to BE AWARE! of upcoming slurry seal work taking place throughout the county.

Marion County’s contractor, Blackline Inc., will slurry seal various Marion County roads beginning on Monday through July 24. The streets selected to receive slurry seal are located in or near Hubbard/Aurora, East Salem, Aumsville, and Chinook Estates.

Fire Destroys Motorhome, Starts Grass Fire East of Salem

A nearby farm had to evacuate some animals from a barn during the blaze.

(AUMSVILLE, Ore. ) - Aumsville Fire A motorhome caught fire Saturday afternoon near the town of Aumsville, Ore. just east of Salem causing a nearby field to catch on fire as well.

Aumsville Fire tells Salem-News.com that once first units arrived on scene at 6858 Sherman Road SE, they quickly called in for a second alarm.

Aumsville Man Gets Lengthy Prison Term for Assaulting 6-Month-Old Boy

Doctors did not expect Fast to survive, but he did, and the boy has permanent brain damage family members said.

(SALEM, Ore. ) - Robert Pinsky A former Oregon National Guard Soldier from Aumsville will spend nearly nine years in prison for assaulting his ex-girlfriends 6-month-old son.

Robert Pinsky was convicted of first-degree assault in a Marion County Courtroom and Judge Vance Day sentenced Pinksy to 105 months in prison, and he is not able to receive any time off of his Measure 11 sentence.

Tornado Touches Down in Oregon`s Willamette Valley

There were no serious injuries from what was probably an F-1 storm; officials say it might not be over.

(AUMSVILLE, Ore.) - Salem-News.com Aumsville residents are shaken and their town is partly destroyed. A tornado touched down here and may continue to cause problems in western Oregon today.

Damage to buildings in Aumsville is extensive.

Home Invasion Near Aumsville Under Investigation

Sheriff's Deputies and Aumsville Police Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

Woman Arrested During Raids in Salem, Aumsville

Seized in the raids were two pickups, financial records, vehicle titles, cash and computers.

(AUMSVILLE, Ore. ) - Quonna Bender Linn County Sheriff deputies executed several search warrants in Marion County near Aumsville and Salem yesterday.

Linn County Sheriff Tim Mueller says all items were seized in connection with an investigation of an alleged embezzlement that occurred at Jeff King Construction 30126 Santiam Hwy in Lebanon, by a former employee.

Aumsville Man Dies in Late Night Crash

No specific road conditions or other factors are being attributed to this single-car accident.

(SALEM, Ore.) - fatal car accident A single car accident claimed the life of an Aumsville man early Sunday morning, just prior to 1:00 AM.

The Marion County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to the 6300 block of Culver Drive SE to investigate a single motor vehicle crash, and a short time after arrival on scene, Marion County Fire determined the lone occupant and driver of the vehicle was deceased.

Thousands Enjoy Ears and Ears of Fun at Aumsville Corn Festival on Saturday

The city estimates that it serves nearly 16 tons of hot buttered corn-on-the-cob during the festival.

(AUMSVILLE) - Aumsville Corn Festival corn statue Thousands came to Porter Boone Park on Saturday to enjoy hot buttered corn-on-the-cob, and more during the 38th Annual Aumsville Corn Festival.

Thousands lined the streets of Aumsville to watch a family-fun parade make it’s way through town.

This years Grand Marshal was Louis Bales, and there were over 100 entries in this year's parade.
