(MIAMI) - The Miami-Dade Police Department says it has arrested four people in connection with the shooting death of Washington Redskins football star Sean Taylor.
Miami-Dade police department spokeswoman Linda O'Brien identified the men as: Venjah K. Hunte, 20; Eric Rivera Jr., 17; Jason Scott Mitchell, 17; and Charles Kendrick Lee Wardlow, 18. O'Brien said that the exact charges for each had not yet been determined but "we are talking murder and burglary," she said.

(DALLAS) - Josh Howard had 23 points and a season-high 14 rebounds, helping the Mavericks overcome a subpar game from Dirk Nowitzki to beat the Portland Trail Blazers 91-80 on Friday night.
Nowitzki, the defending league MVP, began the night averaging 21.7 points, but was 0-for-5 in the first quarter and went without a point for the game's opening 20 minutes, 45 seconds.

(EUGENE, Ore. ) - As was the case last year during non-conference play, the 49ers (1-4) could not figure out how to score the basketball against the Oregon Ducks (4-2), this time going down 66-45 before 2,188 at McArthur Court.
A year ago, the Ducks also had their difficulties putting the ball in the basket, grinding out a 44-33 win in Long Beach. But on this night, Oregon added some offensive punch to go along with its collective effort on the defensive end of the floor.
