No. 10 Stanford Holds Off Beavers, 6-4

Joey Wong had a strong offensive day for the second game in a row, going 2-for-5. Jordan Lennerton, meanwhile, continued to hit the ball well, going 2-for-4 with one RBI a day after collecting three runs batted in on a home run and two hits.

The Beavers swept the individual awards as they scorched the competition and toppled top-seeded Michigan, which was ranked No. 5 in the nation entering the meet, as they brought home the regional championship title for the first time since 1992 and for the ninth time overall.

Busch Holds Off Edwards for Nationwide Win in Phoenix

(AVONDALE, Ariz.) - Kyle Busch The top line of Phoenix International Raceway's 1-mile oval took Kyle Busch to the top of the field on Friday evening in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, as the star driver won the Bashas’ Supermarkets 200 in a green-white-checkered finish over Carl Edwards.

Busch started on the pole but lost the lead to Edwards early, as he later noted the back-and-forth nature of the event. Denny Hamlin contended at times, but at the end, it was Busch and Edwards fighting to the line.

Mariners right-hander Felix Hernandez won his first game of the season and it was a battle.

(SEATTLE) - Raul IbanezMore than three hours after right-hander Felix Hernandez threw the first pitch in the opener of a three-game series, right-hander Mark Lowe threw the last one, inducing a game-ending ground ball that secured the Mariners' 8-5 victory in front of 28,915.

On this night, the Mariners were a good enough team to fend off the Angels despite a two-error eighth inning that put Seattle (5-6) in jeopardy of losing a lead that Raul Ibanez and others helped build.

Tiger Woods, the four-time Masters Champion, has been unable to get untracked through two rounds.

(AUGUSTA, Ga.) - Trevor ImmelmanTrevor Immelman's return to Augusta National Golf Club has been nothing short of uplifting.

Immelman posted a second consecutive four-under-par 68 Friday for a 136 total. At eight-under-par, he leads by one shot over Brandt Snedeker (69-68), with a trio of golfers two strokes further back at 139.

(CORVALLIS, Ore. ) - John WallaceJohn Wallace hit a walk-off single to right center, driving in Jason Ogata from second for the winning run as Oregon State defeated No. 10 Stanford in 10 innings, 10-9, Friday night at Goss Stadium.

Jason Ogata hit a double of the top of the right center fence with one out in the bottom of the 10th to start off the inning.
