(CORVALLIS, Ore) - The Oregon State men’s soccer team dropped a hard-fought match to Stanford, 1-0, in double overtime Sunday afternoon at Paul Lorenz Field.

The Cardinal (5-6-0, 1-2-0 Pacific-10 Conference) got the game-winning goal when Oregon State goalkeeper Steve Spangler made a diving save on a shot by Adam John and the ball reflected to Dominique Yahyavi who scored to an empty net at 106:51.

Willamette University women's soccer defeats Pacific Lutheran University

(SALEM, Ore.) - The Willamette University women's soccer team defeated the Lutes of Pacific Lutheran University, 2-0, on Sunday, Oct. 10. Willamette moved to 5-7-0 overall and to 4-4-0 in the Northwest Conference. PLU is now 2-9 overall and 2-6 in the NWC.

After playing to a 0-0 tie through the first half, freshman Sabine Wetzel (MF, Martinez, CA/Campolindo HS) scored her third goal of the season to give the Bearcats a 1-0 lead in the 50th minute. Wetzel re-directed a pass from Maddy Grainger (So., F, Salt Lake City, UT/West HS) to score the goal. Grainger has three assists this season.

(TACOMA, Wash.) - The Oregon State women's golf team finished in 10th place at the 15-team Edean Ihlanfeldt Invitational that was held the past three days at the Tacoma Country & Golf Club.

The Beavers shot a 311 on Wednesday after rounds of 306 on Monday and 303 on Tuesday at the par-72, 6,078-yard course that featured seven teams from the Pacific-10 Conference.
