(KABUL, Afghanistan) - The top United Nations envoy in Afghanistan expressed his outrage over the terrible loss of life from Saturday morning's army bus attack in capital Kabul, which is among deadliest the city has seen. "We don't at this stage know the final numbers for dead and wounded but it is clear this attack is among the worst that Kabul has seen," Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon's Special Representative Tom Koenigs said in a statement. The attack, which took place on a busy city street, was undoubtedly aimed at terrorizing the population, he noted. Sources say 30 people were killed and 30 were wounded. Agency France-Presse reported that the attack was carried out by an an army uniform clad suicide bomber who was aboard the Afghan military bus. "Those responsible are evidently incapable of offering anything beyond savagery and murder. They must be made to know they will not prevail."
