(SALEM, Ore.) - Here are some of the stories you can look for during our live 7:00 news broadcast on Salem-News.com for September 18, 2009. Those who didn't catch it live can see the half hour news program with Presenter Bonnie King below in two parts.

Oregon State Police say one northbound lane is open following a multi-vehicle crash involving 26 motorcycles and two passenger cars on Interstate 5 near the Baldock Rest Area south of Wilsonville.

Two motorcyclists were taken by LifeFlight with critical injuries and eight others were transported by ground ambulance to area hospitals.

The crash happened today at approximately 2:45 p.m. as the group of at least 26 motorcyclists were northbound in the left lane on Interstate 5 near milepost 282.

The bikes were following a passenger vehicle when traffic ahead began slowing.

Police say the car and motorcyclists all tried to slow but collided with one another. A vehicle in the middle northbound lane was reportedly also struck by one of the motorcycles.

After a two month long investigation by Salem Police, The Oregon Department of Justice, and the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services, arrested 38-year old Julian Ruiz of Keizer about 9:00 this morning by Salem Police Department detectives this morning at River Rd. and Brooklake Rd. NE.

Ruiz had been a mortgage loan originator at America One Finance, which has since gone out of business. Police say that in 2006, he allegedly financed a home for $376,000 using the stolen personal information of a customer. That residence fell into foreclosure in 2007.

In 2008, Ruiz again allegedly stole another customer's personal information to finance a home in the 3700 block of Illahe Hill Rd S for $417,000. This home has also since fallen into foreclosure.

Ruiz was lodged at the Marion County jail, charged with Mortgage Fraud, Aggravated Identity Theft, first-degree Aggravated Theft by Deception, first=degree Forgery, and Issuing a False Financial Statement.

If there is one country and national leader who has been falsely portrayed by U.S. media, it is Iran's President, Mahmoud Ahmadinijad.

For years Fox news and other groups constantly generate fear among Americans by claiming that Iran has a nuclear weapons program, when by all accounts Iran is not.

We'll bring you a special segment from Ann Curry's interview with the President of Iran.

Americans historically tend to have a superiority complex toward other countries when it comes to military hardware and technology. Yet most probably won't be surprised to learn that people in other nations have the same problem.

In many ways, Russian military aircraft technology has nearly caught up with ours. After watching this video of the SU-30 Russian fighter, you may have a similar opinion.

It seems like the factions in the United States that love to cry for new wars in new places... haven't considered how much the planes flown by our would-be enemies have progressed.

The plane featured in this video is the modern version of the old Russian planes like MiG-17's and MiG-21's that are often seen abandoned in places like the present U.S. war zones.

The multi-role twin engine Sukhoi Su-30 jet fighter first flew in 1996.

It is considered very comparable to the U.S. Air Force F-15 and is currently in the air force inventories of Algeria, the People's Republic of China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia, Venezuela and Vietnam.

The old ineffective Communist mentality is no longer the case with the eastern nation jet fighter programs. They have restyled their approach to more closely resemble American and western aviation tactics and procedures. This means they will be more formidable in the air if our pilots ever have to fight against them.

The United States F-22 Raptor is the most exciting aircraft U.S. to be developed and implemented in recent years. The jet fighter, like the SU-30, is capable of "thrust vectoring" which means the pilot can change the direction of the jet blast and create an entirely separate way to control the jet in flight.

That is a role the Marine Corps Harrier is famous for. Hopefully the world will not have to put these machines against each other in a future war.

Many Oregonians made it to the recent visit of the Traveling Vietnam Wall in Albany, Oregon. For those who missed it, we'll bring you a special report from Tim King

Autumn starts on or around September 22nd, we'll bring you some of the most beautiful images that were recorded last year as the leaves changed color, in downtown Dayton and McMinnville, Oregon.

The Salem-News.com newscast recorded live Friday 9-18-09 in Salem Oregon with Bonnie King, and Tim King and Kevin Montgomery at the controls, is posted below in two parts:
