(SALEM, Ore.) - Fans of the legendary rock group Led Zeppelin have been urged to "be patient," following an announcement that the band will get together for a concert at London's O2 Arena November 26th of this year.

Many musicians agree that the music created by Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham, ranks among the most influential in modern history. Along with Buddy Holly, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin commanded packed concert halls from their earliest years.

While vocalist Robert Plant and guitarist Jimmy Page have toured several times together in recent years, this marks the first time in decades that the band will perform with every original name... almost. The passing of drummer John Bonham on September 25th 1980 precludes the entire band from playing together, but the inclusion of Bonham's son Jason Bonham as drummer, brings the band as close to original as possible.

Fans in London, where the band is scheduled to play, had originally been given until Monday to register for the ticket ballot. An intense demand for tickets resulted in an additional two days being alloted for people to register.

The special rock and roll occasion is planned as a special tribute concert for the late Ahmet Ertegun, a former Southampton resident and the creator of Atlantic Records, who was revered by world class musicians.

Led Zeppelin sold more than 300 million albums worldwide, that included 109.5 million sales in the US. They are the only band that saw all of their albums reach the U.S. Billboard Top 10, Led Zeppelin was ranked No. 1 on VH1's list of the 100 greatest artists of hard rock.

One thing that Led Zeppelin did to set itself apart from other British bands, was to inject a heavy dose of American Blues into both the lyrical and instrumental aspects of their music. "Bring it on home to you" is a classic example of Zeppelin's formula, an infusion of cultures that enlightened millions around the world.

The news of the band's reunion was cause for celebration among fans, but bad news for the concert's official Website; it crashed minutes after it was launched on September 12th, with fans hurrying to the site to register for one of the 18,000 that will be offered for the concert in November.

Tickets to see Led Zeppelin will be $250 and will only be sold single or in pairs. The ticket ballot will happen after registration for the show closes on Wednesday.

Profits generated by the appearance of Led Zeppelin will be used to fund scholarships in Ahmet Ertegun's name in the UK, United States and his native country, Turkey.

As a side note, Led Zeppelin is not the only historic British band that is getting together for a special concert; the four surviving members of the Sex Pistols will perform at the Brixton Academy on November 8th, marking the 30th anniversary of their album Never Mind The Bollocks.

That announcement came on the heels of the Led Zeppelin announcement. The Sex Pistols, called the most celebrated and notorious British punk band, broke up in 1978, shortly before the death of bassist Sid Vicious.
