Sep-17-2012 11:11TweetFollow @OregonNews Future of School Going Children of Displaced Families of Mehrabadi after Rimsha's ReleaseShamim Masih for Salem-News.comI have not been able to understand, who will be responsible of the loss of the school going children. None of the NGO or government officials are taking notice of the children.
(ISLAMABAD, Pakistan) - On August 16, Rimsha, a Christian girl of 14 years was arrested in a Blasphemy case which was planned by Muslim cleric Muhammad Khalid Chashti. Since the incident had happened, the Christian residents of that vicinity have shifted to other places. Once the real story was divulged and the Pakistani court released Rimsha, Christian people went back to their homes in Meharabadi G-12. When I visited this area a couple of days back, they said that they are still living under fear and insecure circumstances. They can’t live peacefully there and their females are not secure. I have seen them living there disgracefully and their children are moving around. When I asked them about their children, they said, their children couldn’t go to school since then. There are more than 250 families back in that town and average children are 5-years old, which means hundreds of the children are out of schools. I have not been able to understand, who will be responsible of the loss of the school going children. None of the NGO or government officials are taking notice of the children. Either they are not Pakistani or they don’t have right to get proper education.
