(ALOHA, Ore.) - Investigators in Aloha say a 16-year old suffered multiple stab wounds Tuesday in an Aloha apartment complex parking lot. Sgt. David Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff's Office says investigators who responded to the scene learned that a rival gang member likely stabbed the victim. "The victim was transported to the hospital with multiple stab wounds to the torso and blunt force injuries to the head. Three people have been detained for questioning and more suspects are still at large." Thompson says that around 3:00 PM, several 911 calls reported that a 16-year-old male had been stabbed in the parking lot of the apartment complex at 5400 SW 180th Avenue in Aloha. "After responding deputies learned from witnesses that there may be gangs involved in the assault, they called the Washington County Interagency Gang Enforcement Team to investigate the incident." Investigators found that a verbal altercation started near Aloha High School, off school grounds, between two groups of Hispanic males. Thompson says the groups moved two blocks east where the altercation became physical in the parking lot of the Susan Marie Apartments. "The victim was stabbed and beaten during the altercation. The suspects fled the scene," he added. During the investigation three juveniles were taken in for questioning, they were later released. The victim in this case was taken to Oregon Health Sciences University where he underwent surgery for his wounds. He is expected to survive the attack. The investigation into the stabbing is continuing. This neighborhood is in the Enhanced Sheriff’s Patrol District where Washington County Sheriff’s deputies respond to citizen’s calls for service.
