(Scio, Ore.) - Linn County Undersheriff Bruce Riley reports deputies are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred September 7, 2013, at about 5:46 p.m. on Jefferson-Scio Drive just east of West Scio Rd in Scio.

The victim was identified as Linda Sue Sinclair, 49 years old, from Stayton. The investigation reveals Sinclair was the driver and single occupant of a 1980 Toyota Celica. As Sinclair was traveling west on Jefferson-Scio Drive, she left the roadway off the north shoulder and continued to travel in the ditch approximately 200 feet. As she attempted to come back onto the roadway, her vehicle rolled and landed on the roof.

A neighbor in the area heard the crash and called 911. Linn County deputies and the Jefferson Fire department responded to the scene. Sinclair had to be extricated from the vehicle but died at the scene. The roadway was closed for approximately 3 Â1/2 hours during the investigation.

Sinclair was wearing her seat belt and alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the crash.

Sinclair's body was taken to Fisher Funeral Home in Albany.
