(BEND, Ore.) - Oregon State Police troopers arrested three Bend area residents Saturday morning when a traffic stop led troopers to connect the suspects with an earlier home-invasion type burglary in southwest Bend.

During the stop troopers say they found evidence related to other area burglaries, car clouts, and drugs.

Saturday at approximately 7:35 Am, OSP Senior Trooper Terry Miller and Senior Trooper Joey Pollard stopped a white 1995 Toyota Tercel two-door driven by 23-year old David Brian Bowman of Bend, on OB Riley Road near Old Bend Redmond Highway for a traffic violation.

During the contact, troopers say the male and female passengers provided obvious false names. A Deschutes County Sheriff's Office deputy and narcotics detection canine assisted during the stop and the canine alerted on the car and a backpack.

Lieutenant Carl Rhodes with Oregon State Police says a search of the backpack revealed positive identification on the female passenger, 27-year old Amber Nicole Martin of Bend, and a check belonging to someone else.

"Contact with local agencies confirmed the check was taken in a reported home-invasion type burglary in southwest Bend during which residents were awakened by the burglars who escaped from the residence," Rhodes added.

"Further search revealed a laptop computer, checkbooks, marijuana and other property believed to be stolen in area burglaries and car clouts including Bend and Sunriver."

He says the second passenger was subsequently positively identified as 19-year old Timothy Andrew Bryan of Bend.

All three were taken into custody and lodged in Deschutes County Jail.

Bowman faces charges of Burglary in the First Degree ane Theft in the First Degree.

Martin was arrested for a warrant alleging Forgery in the First Degree, Possession and Distribution of Methamphetamine, and Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Theft in the First Degree, Burglary in the First Degree, Forgery in the First Degree and Unlawful Entry into a Motor Vehicle.

Bryan was arrested for Forgery in the First Degree, Possession and Distribution of Methamphetamine, Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Theft in the First Degree and Burglary in the First Degree.

Anyone with information regarding the suspects is asked to contact OSP Senior Trooper Terry Miller at (541) 388-6213 ext. 524.
