Salem-Keizer Transit District Route Changes, Fare Increases, Take Effect Tuesday

Cherriots will NOT operate on Labor Day, except for the State Fair shuttle.

(SALEM) - The Salem-Keizer Transit District wants to remind Cherriots and CherryLift users of the following route changes and price increases that take effect on Tuesday.

Note: The following times refer to the time the trip is scheduled to depart Courthouse Square in downtown Salem (or for West Salem routes, the time the route departs Glen Creek Transit Station).

Route 1, South Commercial: weekdays, eliminate the 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, and 8:00 AM trips, and the 6:00 PM trip.

Route 3, Capitola: weekdays, reduce the frequency of service in the midday to hourly, eliminating the 9:15, 10:15, and 11:15 AM trips, and the 12:15, 1:15. and 2:15 PM trips.

Route 4, Keizer East: weekdays, eliminate the inbound portion of the 6:15 PM trip.

Route 5, Royal Oaks: weekdays, eliminate the outbound portion of the 6:15 AM trip.

Route 5A, Lancaster Mall: weekdays, reduce the frequency of service in the morning peak and midday to hourly, eliminating the 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00 AM trips, and the noon, 1:00, 2:00, and 3:00 PM trips.

Route 6, 12th & Sunnyside: weekdays, reduce the frequency of service in the midday to hourly, eliminating the 9:15, 10:15, and 11:15 AM trips, and the 12:15, 1:15. and 2:15 PM trips. Also, weekdays, eliminate the 6:15 AM trip.

Route 7, State & Fairview: weekdays, reduce the frequency of service in the midday to hourly, eliminating the 9:15, 10:15, and 11:15 AM trips, and the 12:15, 1:15. and 2:15 PM trips. Also, weekdays, eliminate the 6:15 AM trip.

Route 8, Liberty Road: weekdays, eliminate the outbound portion of the 6:15 AM trip, and the 6:15 PM trip.

Route 9, Keizer Central: weekdays, eliminate the partial trips that arrive in downtown Salem at 3:00 PM. Also on weekdays only, split the Keizer end of the route, beyond River Rd. and Lockhaven, to operate the Parkmeadow loop on hourly frequency, and the Stonehedge/McLeod loop on hourly frequency.

Route 10, Orchard Heights: weekdays, reduce the frequency of service to hourly, eliminating the 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30 a.m. trips, and the 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, 5:30, and 6:30 p.m. trips. Also, weekdays, eliminate the "10X" 6:56 AM, 7:16 AM and 3:04 PM trips to West Salem High School. Also, eliminate the 8:00, 9:00, and 10:00 PM trips on weekdays and Saturdays.

Route 12, Salemtowne: Rename the route Wallace Road, and remove the Salemtowne loop from the route. Weekdays, reduce the frequency of service to hourly, eliminating the 6:30, 7:30, 8:30, 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30 AM trips, and the 12:30, 1:30, 2:30, 3:30, 4:30, 5:30, 6:30, and 7:30 PM trips. Also, eliminate the 8:00, 8:30, 9:00, 9:30, and 10:00 PM trips on weekdays and Saturdays.

Route 13, Lansing & Claxter: weekdays, reduce the frequency of service to hourly, eliminating the 6:15, 7:15, and 8:15 AM trips, and the 2:15, 3:15, 4:15, 5:15, and 6:15 PM trips. Also, on weekdays and Saturdays, eliminate the inbound portion of the 7:45 PM trip, and the 8:45 and 9:45 PM trips.

Route 14, Sunnyridge: weekdays, reduce the frequency of service to hourly, eliminating the 6:15, 7:15, and 8:15 AM trips, and the 2:15, 3:15, 4:15, 5:15, and 6:15 PM trips. Change the 9:15, 10:15, and 11:15 AM trips, and the 12:15, and 1:15 PM trips to 9:45, 10:45, 11:45 AM, and 12:45 and 1:45 PM Also, on weekdays and Saturdays, eliminate the inbound portion of the 7:45 PM trip, and the 8:45 and 9:45 PM trips.

Route 15, Laurel Springs: weekdays, reduce the frequency of service to hourly, eliminating the 6:15, 7:15, and 8:15 AM trips, and the 3:15, 4:15, 5:15, and 6:15 PM trips. Also, on weekdays and Saturdays, eliminate the inbound portion of the 7:45 PM trip, and the 8:45 and 9:45 PM trips.

Route 16(A), Macleay: weekdays, eliminate the 7:00 and 8:00 AM trips.

Route 17, Hayesville: weekdays, eliminate the outbound portion of the 6:15 PM trip.

Route 18, Keizer West: weekdays, reduce the frequency of service to hourly, eliminating the 6:15, 7:15, and 8:15 AM trips, and the 3:15, 4:15, 5:15, and 6:15 PM trips.

Route 19, Glen Creek: weekdays, reduce the frequency of service to hourly, eliminating the 6:03, 7:00, 8:00, 9:00, 10:00, and 11:00 AM trips, and the noon, 1:00, 2:00, 3:00, 4:00, 5:00, and 6:00 PM trips. Also, eliminate the 8:30, and 9:30 PM trips on weekdays and Saturdays.

Route 21, Turner Road: on weekdays and Saturdays, eliminate the inbound portion of the 7:45 PM trip, and the 8:45 and 9:45 PM trips.

Route 22, Battlecreek: on weekdays and Saturdays, eliminate the inbound portion of the 7:45 PM trip, and the 8:45 and 9:45 PM trips.

Route 23, Eola: weekdays, reduce the frequency of service to hourly, eliminating the 6:56, 7:56, 8:56, 9:56, 10:56, and 11:58 AM trips, and the 12:58, 1:58, 2:58, 3:58, 4:58, and 5:58 PM trips. Also, eliminate the 8:28 and 9:28 PM trips on weekdays and Saturdays.

Route 24, West Salem Loop: no eliminations, but add new trips at 7:28, 8:28, and 9:28 PM.

All Routes: eliminated all service on the following Holidays: President's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Veteran's Day (there's already no service on Christmas, New Year's, and Thanksgiving).

The following routes have no changes made to them:

#16 Four Corners

#20 Airport Road Park & Ride

#25 West Salem

Northeast and South Commercial Park & Ride routes
