(HAPPY VALLEY, Ore.) - A woman was shot in Happy Valley today during a carjacking near the intersection of SE Natalya Street and SE Antea Way, according to police. Clackamas County deputies who responded to the scene kept their eyes open for a stolen 2009 Mini Cooper. The vehicle was stolen around 8:30 AM.

Detective Jeff Green with the Clackamas Sheriff's Office says the woman driving the car had just left her home and headed for work when she pulled up behind a vehicle that was stopped in the road.

She was driving a 2009 Mini Cooper, white with a black roof and a black racing stripe on the hood. The Mini Cooper displayed Oregon license CK67886. This plate is a Crater Lake plate.

Green says the vehicle that the woman pulled up behind was a dirty maroon Dodge/Plymouth Neon type vehicle. The license plate was not noted by the victim.

"As the woman stopped, a male got out of the Neon and walked back to her. He first asked for directions to Portland then demanded the woman get out of the car. When she said no, the male opened the door and pulled her out."

As the man sat in the car, the woman tried to open the door, according to Green.

At that point he says the man, "pointed a handgun at the woman and fired one round. The woman had a grazing wound to her leg. The woman did not require hospitalization. It is not known what type of handgun was used."

The male closed the car door and both vehicles drove off, turning onto SE Antea Way, heading north. The victim said ran back to her residence and told her husband of the robbery.

The male who took the Mini Cooper is described as a white male, tall, thin, and pale. His speech was slow. He is thought to be 28 to 35 years old. No facial hair was seen.

The driver of the suspect vehicle was described as a Hispanic/White male, 28-35 years old. He has dark hair and a goatee.

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone with information to call the tip line at (503) 723-4949. If you see the Mini Cooper, call 911 to report the vehicle's location. There is a $1000 reward being offered at this time.
