Police Arrest Jefferson Man On Numerous Sex Abuse Charges

(JEFFERSON, Ore.) - Marion County Sheriff Russ Isham says detectives arrested a 68-year old Jefferson man on multiple charges of sex abuse Tuesday. Isham says David G. Garcia was contacted and arrested at his home in Jefferson after reports that he had sexually abused three juvenile victims between 1991 and July of 2008.

"The victims were ages 7, 8 and 9-years old at the time of the alleged crimes and were all known to Garcia," Isham said.

Garcia has been charged with first-degree Attempted Rape, 2 counts of first-degree Sodomy, 2 counts of Unlawful Penetration, 3 counts of first-degree Sex Abuse and third-degree Sex Abuse.

He is currently lodged at the Marion County Jail pending arraignment on Thursday.

There are so many bitter, nasty people out there with a hang'em high mentality! These people don't know anything except what they read which is false. I am close to the family and know he was and is innocent, Nowhere in the court transcripts did it say anything about 1966. A previously abused girl made up incidents from more than 15 years ago, that was first so called victim. Second victim was his neighbors Grand Kid who came from an abused family said he patted the girl on her bottom while at there house visiting with all the adults there. That's it. An innocent man is jail and yeah he confessed? He had to confess to a lessor charge because he did not want to go to jail for 25 years. The Public defender told him that was his only chance of not to spending the rest of his life in Jail. The female public defender was a joke!! Now a 70 Year old man is in jail. Until he is 80 is that Justice I think not!! Oh Yeah he may have spanked his kids with a belt. That is worth 10 years of a mans life.

Can, believe that there is this much stir about this. Seems like this is a travesty as a whole, but I see comments that imply additional knowledge from those who must be close to the situation. Attesting to truth is never wrong, but to those who commented with bitterness and anger, I would urge you to find forgiveness in your souls and peace in your heart. A bad thing happened and It seems he is paying the price for his actions.I say to those who can't move forward that No one who has ever done even the smallest wrong should have any room to judge a fellow man.

I understand about victims. I was a victim! I was accused of something i didn't do! I went thru he** for months because a kid didn't get her barbie car or her hair done! Some kids are schemers and liars from a young age!

unfortunately, there are a lot of animalistic people who prey on children. just because the children fear to come forward until years later, does not invalidate what happened to them. i am all for shouting it from the rooftops the day of or the day after, but i do understand the victim's feelings and fears as i was once a child victim myself.
