Oregon Father Arrested on Child Abuse Charges

Police said none of the children required medical attention.

(STAYTON, Ore. ) - Stayton Police arrested a 37-year-old father of five after an investigation revealed he had attempted to choke one of his children.

Lieutenant Rich Sebens says officers responeded Tuesday with Department of Human Services to 9874 Golf Club Rd in Stayton on a report of a physical child abuse.

After investigating, James Forsythe was arrested for Strangulation by choking one of his children, Assault IV, Reckless Endangering, and Criminal Mistreatment I.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Correctional Facility.

Forsythe's five children, ages 7-12, were taken into protective custody.
