44-year-old Lonnie Troy Glinski, was arrested at his home and charged with seven counts of attempted aggravated murder, and four counts of possession of a destructive device.

Investigators said the bombs were large, sophisticated and powerful enough to kill the drivers of those cars.

  • The first pipe bomb was found just before noon August 10th underneath a parked car parked at Salem Hospital.
  • Then at 12:15 PM another was found underneath a parked car parked at the Roth’s IGA on Lancaster Drive NE.
  • Then a third suspected bomb was found by a motorist at 5:31 PM in an intersection next to 6100 Woodside Drive SE. In this case, the pipe bomb was found laying in the roadway.
  • Later that night at 7:45 PM a pipe bomb was found on a vehicle in the Tyco Electronics plant parking lot.

No one was injured by the pipe bombs.

Glinski was being held without bail at the Marion County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in Marion County Court at 8:30 AM Wednesday.

Lonnie Glinski was usually a quiet and easy going person. He had worked for my step dad, Joe Bispham's, and Dustin Johnson Law Office for several years. I don't know what happened after that. But I can tell you he had a horrible childhood and carried some horrific scars. I'm so relieved that nothing exploded. But, there is one casualty. Lonnie's life, as we all knew it, ended that day. Lonnie wherever you are, I pray that God will show you mercy.

What's the matter, did they arrest your brother 'Bert? Or is he just the patsy?

Only a tree-hugger would think a hunting rifle is a destructive device! It is obvious a few of my fellow commentators have never served in the military or sacrificed anything but the caffine in their Starbucks! Glad they got this guy and his girlfriend off the street!

FYI he was arrested Monday

anonymous October 17, 2006 10:22 pm (Pacific time)

a pipe bomb is considered a destructive device... why is your average hunting rifle exempt from this rule?

We need anarchists to overwhelm law enforcement to rebuild the system. You can not kill a million ants with one foot.

There needs to be a space between the man's last name and is in the sub headline
Thank You - Matt

Don't know what Iraq has to do with this story. But if you can find the bits and pieces of the suicide Islamic bombers, have them arrested.

Albert Marnell October 17, 2006 2:21 pm (Pacific time)

Who is being charged with aggravated murder for over 650,000 civilians in Iraq. Murder is legal apparently depending on what side of the fence you are on.
