(CARLSBAD, NM) - As part of the Operation Red Dragonfly Veteran's health awareness tour, Salem-News.com's Tim King spoke at the Carlsbad, New Mexico American Legion Monday night, Oct 14th 2013. The talk was well-received and also well-promoted by the Current- Argus newspaper in Carlsbad. Their article Motorcycling newspaper editor Tim King talks veterans health issues in Carlsbad was published prior to Tim's talk, helping alert the community prior to the event. Tim discussed the various components of Operation Red Dragonfly; awareness of military base toxic contamination, Agent Orange, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and Veteran Suicide. Tim explained how members of his team have helped so much in his efforts to expose the military coverup of issues that claim the lives of those who serve. He offered credit to Dr. Phil Leveque of Salem-News.com for his years of mentorship which helped evolve Tim's understanding of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and also Operation Red Dragonfly Coordinator Sheree Evans, who has through the experience of losing her husband to Glioblastoma, helped the Veterans Administration take the responsible steps of recognizing that "Glio" is a result of Agent Orange contamination, and also to Tim's co-author Robert O'Dowd in New Jersey who has done the lion's share of work in helping BETRAYAL - Toxic Exposure of U.S. Marines, Murder, and Government Cover-up become a matter of reality. Members of the American Legion's motorcycle riding contingent were also in attendance at the Monday night talk, which took place during the Legion's regular meeting. Bob "Sgt. Jim Bob" Walker of the N.M. American Legion Riders Motorcycle Association, invited Tim to schedule next year's talk with one of their four state level meetings, and complimented the content of the discussion. Tim spent time after the meeting with Walker and other members of the group, discussing his 9,000 miles national motorcycle tour which has been underway since the middle of August. Tim's talk was hosted by Linda Ranes, a Vietnam-era Marine Corps Veteran who lives in the local area. Her outreach through her roles in both The American Legion and the Marine Corps League, also boosted attendance Monday night. Linda's husband Don Ranes is a Marine Vietnam Veteran. Linda showed Tim highlights in the local area like a Veteran's Park which was constructed largely through Veteran donations and labor. Tim described his time in Carlsbad as a rich experience, he says many of those who attended the talk approached him after to share information and thank him for his appearance.
