Missing Newberg Man Located

Sheriff Jack Crabtree says he is thankful that Mr. Callas was located safe and sound.

(MCMINNVILLE, Ore.) - The Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office terminated a Search and Rescue operation just after 12:00 PM today for 55-year old Donald Stuart Callas of rural Newberg, Oregon.

Sheriff Jack Crabtree says this concludes an intensive search that spanned a 2 day period involving deputies, search and rescue volunteers, canines, air operations, and the Salvation Army.

"Mr. Callas contacted family members and advised them that he was at a Truck Stop in Portland, Oregon. Detectives from the Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office found Mr. Callas safe and unharmed at the truck stop in Aurora, Oregon."

Sheriff Crabtree said, “I am thankful that Mr. Callas was located safe and sound. I also appreciate the calls from the community with information and concern during our efforts to locate him.”
