(SALEM, Ore.) - Investigators with the Marion County Sheriff's Office say two people were hospitalized and a third arrested after a domestic dispute that erupted shortly after 7:45 p.m., Monday evening. Don Thomson, spokesman for the Marion County Sheriff, says deputies responded to a home in the 4600 block of Selby Court NE in Salem on a report that two women had been stabbed. "Officers from the Salem, Police Department and Troopers from the Oregon State Police also responded to the initial calls when it was reported that the suspect was still inside the residence." Tomson says deputies arrived to find 29-year old Shannon Vanderpool in the driveway of the house. "She had suffered several wounds and was receiving first aid from a neighbor. A second victim, 59-year old Judy Moore, was identified as Shannon Vanderpool's mother." Tomson says she had also suffered wounds requiring treatment. Both victims were transported to the Salem Hospital where they are currently listed in stable condition. The Vanderpool's and Moore live at the residence that is owned by Moore. Tomson said, "Deputies entered the home and took 27-year old Austin Emory Vanderpool into custody at 8:06 p.m. He had what appeared to be a minor self-inflicted wound to his neck. "He was transported to a local Hospital for treatment before being booked at the Marion County Jail on charges of 5 counts of Attempted Murder, 5 counts of Assault in the First Degree and Menacing." Marion County detectives will process the house for evidence after securing a search warrant later this morning. Shannon Vanderpool's 11-year old son, and 13-month baby were inside the residence at the time of the assault, but they were not injured. They were released to family members.
