(BEAVERTON, Ore.) - During the early morning hours of October 9, 2010, Beaverton police were called to a sexual assault that had been witnessed by a third party.

The witness reportedly called police immediately after observing Alonzo Odom, a 38 year old Beaverton resident, engaged in sexual activity with a 14 year old female.

Odom fled from the location when he learned police had been called, causing police to begin an extensive search. However, within 45 minutes of receiving the initial call officers had located and arrested Odom.

Alonzo Dewayne Odom was subsequently charged with five counts of Rape in the First Degree which stemmed from this incident plus four previous occurrences that were discovered during the initial investigation.

Odom remains at Washington County Jail with a $250,000 bail for his Measure 11 crimes.

Detectives continue the investigation as preliminary information suggests the possibility of additional incidences and other victims.

Anyone with further information is urged to call the Beaverton Police Department at 503-629-0111.

Please remember that this individual has only been arrested and not convicted. In the past suspects charged with these crimes have been found innocent in a court of law.
