(SALEM) - Salem firefighters were dispatched to a house fire at 630 Tryon Ave NE this morning at 10:41 AM. Fire trucks from the Salem Fire Department and Keizer Fire District responded. Fire Spokesman Bill Holmstrom says arriving firefighters found and quickly extinguished a fire in the living room of the home. No one was at home at the time the fire started. Several small rabbits perished in the fire. The cause of the fire was determined to be a halogen lamp that had tipped over onto a couch. Damage to the home and contents is estimated at $40,000. There were no injuries to firefighters or other people.
