Sex Asssault Suspect Photographed on Portland Bus

(PORTLAND, Ore.) - Police in Portland say a woman was attacked after getting off a Tri-Met bus at the intersection of Southwest Capital Highway and Southwest Sunset Boulevard Wednesday, October 7, at approximately 12:30 a.m.

Detective Mary Wheat with Portland Police, says the male suspect followed the woman off the bus and he continued following her across the street where he attacked the woman and sexually assaulted her.

"The male suspect ran from the area after a concerned citizen confronted the suspect," Wheat said. The photograph at right of the suspect was taken while he was boarding the bus. The suspect is described as a white male in his early to mid twenties, is approximately 5'9" tall and weighs approximately 160 pounds.

Wheat says he was seen wearing a white t-shirt and light blue jeans. Anyone with information concerning the identity of the suspect or his location should call the Portland Police at 503-823-HELP.
