Clackamas Deputies Seek to Arrest Domestic Violence SuspectSalem-News.comInvestigators say the suspect may presently be frequenting the cities of Longview and Vancouver, Washington; employed as a house painter. They believe he could also be visiting the communities of Junction City, Eugene and Fern Ridge, Oregon.
(CLACKAMAS, Ore.) - Deputies with the Clackamas Sheriff's Domestic Violence Unit say they are looking for a suspect in several crimes related to domestic abuse. Sheriff's Office Spokesman Jim Strovink says 30-year old Matthew Marshall Ledbetter entered his estranged wife's residence in Clackamas on October 3rd, physically assaulting her and striking her with a handgun. This handgun has since been recovered. Matthew Ledbetter faces charges of first-degree Burglary, Coercion, 4th-degree Assault under the Abuse Prevention Act, Menacing, Unlawful Use of a Weapon and Violation of a Restraining Order. He is described as 6 feet tall, weighing 155 pounds. Strovink says Ledbetter is believed to be driving a red and silver 1988 Chevy Suburban with unknown Washington plates. He may also be living on, or associated with a 26 foot Well Craft, cream colored, cabin cruiser type boat; with a hull number displayed as WA2288RM. Matthew Ledbetter is typically accompanied by his dog, which is a gray and white colored Great Dane. Investigators say Ledbetter may presently be frequenting the cities of Longview and Vancouver, Washington; employed as a house painter. They believe Ledbetter could also be visiting the communities of Junction City, Eugene and Fern Ridge, Oregon. Strovink says anyone who has information concerning this featured suspect is encouraged to contact the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, or a local law enforcement agency.
