(SALEM, Ore.) - Award-winning musicians and culinary arts students from South Salem High School will team up to provide an evening of fine music and fine dining on October 14th, 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. at the South Salem High School Gym, to benefit the Chamber Orchestra's March, 2011, concert tour of Austria and Germany and the Saxon's Culinary Arts Team. Guests will be treated to a three-course menu, including a tempting variety hors d'oeuvres, salads, entrees and desserts prepared by Saxons Culinary Arts Team, which was featured recently on Chef Guy Fiere's national Food Network television show. The team has taken first place awards in major regional and national competitions, and they promise to prepare a sumptuous feast for their diners. During the concert hour, the Chamber Orchestra, directed by Brandon Correa, will play from its repertoire of classical and contemporary music by composers ranging from Borodin to the Beatles. Professional Violinist Maria Zlateva will join the orchestra's musicians in Vivaldi's Violin Concerto in G minor, while senior soloists Aleida Fernandez and Molly Hartshorn will be featured on works by Telemann and Balmages. Tickets to the gala evening are now available from South Salem High School Culinary Arts and Chamber Orchestra students at $50.00. All funds raised will go toward defraying travel costs for the Culinary Team and the Orchestra's March 16-27, 2011, performing tour in Munich, Salzburg, Vienna and Prague. Checks made payable to South Salem Music Boosters. For further information, phone Brandon Correa at 503-383-4367, or e-mail Brandon.correa@gmail.com.
