(SALEM) - Salem's chain of McDonald's Restaurants have provided a generous donation toward Tim King's upcoming assignment in Afghanistan where he will be embedded with the 41st Combat Brigade of the Oregon National Guard. Seaman-Pollard Family Restaurants Inc. provided $1,100, which goes a long way toward offsetting the costly several week trip that Photojournalist/Reporter Tim King will take later this month. People will be able to see their friends, colleagues and loved ones doing what their nation has called upon them to do. Right on, Bonnie: Perfect example of true community service even at risk in war-zone. "See with own eyes" can't be beat -- and monopoly only-paper does not even try.

Family, friends and neighbors of the soldiers depicted in the upcoming stories Tim will cover are going to be happily surprised at the unique perspective that these video pieces will show. It's a first-hand look at what's really happening to their loved ones so far away, and posted quickly so it's not old news when they see it. Thanks so much to McDonald's and the other supporters of this mission, it will be a positive force amidst the rest.
