(VANCOUVER, Wa.) - Police say a man tried to kidnap a seven-year old girl in Vancouver this morning, but her eleven-year old brother pushed the suspect and police say the girl was able to get away. Officers from Vancouver Police responded to the 3500 block of "S" Street for the attempted kidnap this morning at 8:43 AM. Officers arriving on the scene say they contacted the 11-year old male and his 7-year old sister. Their initial statements to police indicated that a man had been seen walking around the 3500 block of "S" Street while the victim and her brother were walking to school at Washington Elementary. At one point, police say the suspect grabbed the seven year old, and tried to run away with her. Her brother then pushed the male, causing him to let go of his sister. Both children ran back home but were followed by the suspect, who was last seen leaving on foot towards 33rd St. Detectives from the Vancouver Police Department and the Child Abuse Intervention Center responded and obtained more detailed statements from the children. They created the composite drawing shown above. Police say that at this point, no positive ID has been made on the suspect. The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, approximately 45-50 year old, five foot ten inches tall, weighing approximately 150 pounds. The suspect has black shoulder length hair, a thick mustache, a wrinkled face and a deep voice. He was last seen wearing a dark green trench coat, and black hiking style boots. The suspect was described as dirty, possibly transient. Several transient camps were checked, but no one matching the description was located. Anyone with information regarding this incident is strongly encouraged to call the Vancouver Police Department tip line at (360) 487-7399. The first sentence of the article does not make sense. Who is the 7 year olds 11 year old? That is where I stopped reading. No editor here.
