(SANTA CLARITA, Calif.) - Junior Gus Bermudez (Culver City, Calif.) was the lone member of the Corban's men's soccer team to be named National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) All-West Region 1st team, as announced Monday by the west region chair for men's soccer.

The 5-foot-9 first-year Warrior was one of three forwards named as part of the team joining Andrew Totaro of The Master's College and Cesar Cruz of San Diego Christian College.

Bermudez led the Warriors in six offensive categories, including goals (11), assists (3), points (25), shots (64), shots on goal (38), and game-winning goals (3). The fleet-footed forward also became the first Corban player to score 10-or-more goals since 2006 when former Warriors Scott Marshall and Caleb Louvier scored 12 and 10 goals respectively. Bermudez also became the first Warrior in four years to score three goals in a single game, as the first-year Corban player accomplished the feat against Oregon Tech on September 18th.

Among the regional leaders, Bermudez was first in both points (1.47) and goals per game (0.65) as well as ranking 18th in the NCCAA in goals per game and 24th in the nation in points per game.

This is the first NCCAA post-season award for Corban's men's soccer since 2003 when former Warrior Taurai Daka (2000-03) earned both 1st team All-American recognition and Offensive MVP honors at the NCCAA National Tournament.

Earlier this month, Bermudez earned All-Cascade Collegiate Conference 2nd team recognition as voted by the league's coaches.
