(SALEM) - Salem police, along the state medical examiner and Oregon State Police crime lab investigators are continuing to investigate the discovery of a body in a Mazda Protégé in the 2700 block of Summer Street SE Tuesday. The body, may be connected to an overnight shooting Monday Church Street near South Salem High School. Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Johnny Borrero of Salem. Monday night, just after 9:00 PM a man now identified as 18-year-old Jose Alonzo Quezada of Woodburn, contacted police at a Center Street mini-mart at 12th Street SE and Fairview, and was taken to Salem Hospital then transferred to OHSU in Portland with two life threatening gun shot wounds to his back. Police said they found bullet cases, a gun, and broken glass on Church Street last night. An autopsy will be performed Thursday to find the exact cause of Borrero's death.
