Nov-28-2011 16:59TweetFollow @OregonNews The Real Definition of Saturn's Dust ParticlesEdsel Chromie Salem-News.com...it is clearly atoms of gases that were energized by the strong magnetic fields of Saturn and the Sun that I have been writing about for over 30 years.
(SAN DIEGO) - NASA reported the detection of both the creation of particles and the repelling characteristic in a 17 Nov. 2011 advisory with an article titled “Kicking Up Dust- Saturn and the Solar Wind Sent Tiny Particles Flying.” The link to this article is http://saturn.jpl.nasa.gov/news/cassiniscienceleague/science20111110/. The article states: “Dust particles act in an unusual way around Saturn. Instead of being attracted to the giant planet as might be expected, dust particles are ejected away from Saturn in streams that move at speeds of more than 62 miles per second. They found that the streams result from the effects of the solar wind and Saturn’s strong magnetic field on tiny, electrically charged dust particles in Saturn’s vicinity.” While they did not recognize this, it is clearly atoms of gases that were energized by the strong magnetic fields of Saturn and the Sun that I have been writing about for over 30 years. Then these were repelled from Saturn because they were of the same polarity as the magnetic field of Saturn that I detailed in my last article. There is absolutely no other force that can immediately accelerate any particle away from the very strong pull of gravity of Saturn at such high speed. Note the size reported to be “About one-hundred-thousandth the diameter of a human hair.” This is closer to the size of an energized atom of gas and its electrons than a solid particle. And, note the fact that “They are accelerated by the solar wind to speeds more than 100 times faster than a rifle bullet.” And, the illustration in the article indicates that these particles travel radially from the planet, not with the flow of the solar wind. The article states: “Besides detecting high-velocity dust particles accelerated by the solar wind, Cassini’s dust particle analyzer also detected ‘faint’ impacts coming from the line of sight to Saturn. Researchers think they may be the result of ‘freshly’ ejected dust particles that had not yet been fully accelerated by the solar wind away from their original trajectories” As I have stated, the reason these impacts are “faint” is because they are simply atoms of gases, not dust particles, with an electrical charge that provides its specific weight and produces the natural resistance of its magnetic field that registers the impact. The scientists speculate, “Simulations suggest that the sputtered E ring particles are the source of the silicate nanoparticles detected by the cosmic dust analyzer. But that’s not all. The products of the sputtering, among them neutral and charged atoms and molecules like oxygen, hydroxyl (OH) and water, have been observed by Cassini’s other instruments, including the ultraviolet imaging spectrograph. It seems that E ring grains, whose origins are the jets of Enceladus, serve as a source of both neutral and electrically charged particles in Saturn’s mid to outer magnetosphere.” The speculation that these E ring grains originated from a liquid salt water ocean under the ice surface of Enceladus where the warmest temperature measured on the surface is 145 degrees below zero F., and the ambient temperature in the vicinity is colder than 300 degrees below zero F., is preposterous. The advisory states: “Cassini’s study of the puzzling dust stream phenomenon has helped illuminate a new mechanism for accelerating dust particles in dusty plasmas, an area of science currently receiving particular attention. Given that dust and dusty plasmas are found in regions where new stars form, Hsu et al.’s results from Saturn may provide new insight into the process of star and planet formation.” This may be a new mechanism for accelerating dust particles for the scientists but their concept of particles being accelerated by the solar wind is not new and does not satisfactorily explain the acceleration to such high speed away from an intense pull of gravity in this instance. However, this newly discovered anomaly will certainly provide an insight into the process of star and planet formation if they recognize that this acceleration was caused by the repelling characteristics of like magnetic fields and the importance of combining or converging magnetic fields and the static electricity these colliding magnetic fields generate. Hopefully, they will recognize this sooner than the 1,000 years in the future speculated by physicist Brian Greene in the Nova program “The Fabric of the Cosmos.” These scientists are getting closer and closer to my 1978 concept that electromagnetic field currents are the key to the solution of the mysteries of the universe. In a similar somewhat related experience, I remember listening to a lecture by Voyager Project Director Edward Stone at JPL’s “Planetfest” in Pasadena where he was commenting on the unusual nature of Saturn’s ring system. During the Q and A, I asked if localized disturbances in the rings could be observed and if so what over how long a timeframe might one expect to see indications of such disturbances be. He was surprisingly dismissive of the question and said something to the effect of if I was paying attention to the lecture, I would know that any disruption of the ring equilibrium would be short lived and leave no trace that we’d be able to spot. I considered the question from my purely layman’s perspective valid regardless of his response, so I found it amusing about eight years later to read in a Time or Newsweek article a quote by him where he conceded that the ring system was a far more dynamic environment than they had originally thought (shepparding moons, etc.).
[Return to Top]I felt somewhat vindicated in that my question anticipated that there was more of a ripples in a pond effect than they had previously considered.
