(CORVALLIS) - Oregon State fans have a lot to be thankful for this Holiday weekend. For Oregon fans, Friday brought heartbreak and frustration after a 30-28 loss to the Beavers in the 110th edition of the Civil War. Beavers placekicker Alexis Serna kicked a 40-yard field goal with 1:12 left, and Oregon State defensive lineman Ben Siegert blocked Matt Evensen 44-yard potential game-winning kick as Oregon State held on to beat the Ducks, 30-28. Serna also connected from 49 and 50 yards. Oregon State quarterback Matt Moore completed 16 of 22 passes for 255 yards and one touchdown. Sammie Stroughter caught 8 passes for 114 yards and a touchdown for the Beavers. The biggest bright spot for the Ducks was starting running back Jonathan Stewart who rushed for 94 yards and three touchdowns. 44,015 fans packed Reser Stadium and braved the rain and the wind to watch a game that will surely be remember by Beavers fans for years to come.

There is no other team I would rather support, through thick and thin, than them. Thanks for a great seasone thus far. Go get the warriors and then lets tear the sun bowl a new one!!! GO BEAVS!!! JC November 24, 2006 8:50 pm (Pacific time) Great game by both teams. That may have been the best football game I've seen in the last decade. On interesting note is that the Oregon radio announcers were in denial all the way home about how the Ducks really won, and how the Beavs were just lucky. 30-28 equals a win. I wanted to call in and say that Kent was actually out of bounds in the 3rd quarter and that the pass that was ruled incomplete on the field in the 4th quarter was actually a fumble that was returned for a touchdown. Way to go Beavs! Have fun in El Paso against Rutgers!! Duck Fan November 24, 2006 8:49 pm (Pacific time) Man the Ducks sure did suck the last half of the season.
