(SALEM, Ore.) - Eldar Mahmudov, who was been stripped of ministry by decree of Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, has been placed under house arrest.

Alyiev dismissed Mahmudov after his return from a recent trip to Russia. As reported by Musavat news center, Russian Intelligence had revealed confidential documents about Mahmudov secretly assisting Israeli Intelligence.

According to the report, Mahmudov made a deal with the Islamic State, and transferred Azerbaijani Wahabbies to Syria through the Turkish border. He reportedly traded each Wahabbi warrior for 45,000 US dollars.

Additionally, Ans Press reported that after Mahmudov’s house arrest, more than 30 boxes of money and jewels were confiscated from his home.

Reports suggest that Mahmudov is being accused of treason against his country. After the news broke, Avigdor Lieberman, Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs, paid a visit to Russia. Experts believe that this sudden visit indicates that the matter is of great importance to Israel.
