Austin "Promo" King is also a session artist, and maintains a project called "Malefica Anima" out of Salem, OR. Austin runs a socialist booking and promotions group out of Oregon called Black Tree Music Productions,

In an interview with Gambino, Austin asked, “Often in music today the same subjects are covered over and over. What’s different about you, and what kind of things do you stand for when it comes to your music?”

“I may cover some of the same subjects that other rappers have touched, but rest assured, all of my lyrics come from personal experiences and views. Way too many artists trying to be Hustlers or Gangsta's, until they run into a Real G, then reality sets in. The things I would say I stand for in hip hop would be reality and honesty. I’m tired of all the lies in the lyrics, tired of the kids thinking its cool to sell drugs and be a thug. I think it's time for a little change.”

Gambino has also done an interview with Treal Magazine, Hip-Hop's #1 underground Magazine, based out of Dallas/Ft.Worth, TX.
