(Salem, Oregon) - Law Enforcement for Youth is gearing up for the 2010 Shop with a Cop. Our Shop with a Cop program provides an opportunity for local youth in need to partner with a law enforcement officer to shop together for a holiday gift. Law Enforcement for Youth provides each youth participant with a $25.00 gift card. This event is a great opportunity for youth to develop a positive relationship with the law enforcement community. Many of the participants may also be recieving their only holiday present. Over the years heart warming children have sought gifts such as a boy who selected a doll for his sister who was home sick and could not come, a child who just wanted a nice shirt and shoes for church, several who have sought car seats and bike helmets to be safe and even basic needs like warm clothing. Our program has met its goal of serving 400 plus local youth each your for over the past five years. We are asking for your help in again achieving this goal in 2010. The 2010 Shop with a Cop will be held on December 11th at the South Commercial Wal-mart, our partner store. Children are selected through partner agencies such as the Marion County and Salem Housing authorities, Local Law Enforcement agancies School Resource Officers. For eligibility questions please contact those agencies directly. Law Enforcement for Youth is a local non profit organization. Our mission is to serve low income, at-risk, medically challenged youth and the programs that serve them. You can make a difference by sponsoring one or more children. Each child sponsored is only $25 make a differance today!
