(SALEM, Ore.) - Salem Police say that Sunday evening at approximately 10:12 PM, 24-year old Keith Phillip Martinez was shot in the upper left leg in the parking lot of the Lucky Fortune. The Lucky Fortune is a restaurant and nightclub at 1401 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem. Martinez was transported by medics to Salem Hospital and was later transferred to OHSU Health Science Center in Portland. The wound is not life threatening at this time. Details of the shooting are not clear at this time. Salem Police Lt Chuck Bennett says they are investigating the shooting incident but have not identified who fired the shot. A search warrant was served Monday on a 1994 Ford Explorer in the parking lot. Bennett says a handgun believed to be used in the shooting was found in the vehicle along with approximately 4 ounces of methamphetamine. "The handgun was reported stolen out of a Burglary that occurred in Clark County Washington in October, 2007," he stated. The victim, Keith Martinez, was wanted on a Parole Violation warrant out of Multnomah County. He was on parole for a robbery charge. He is still in OHSU at this time. This case remains under investigation. If you believe you have information regarding this case please contact Detective Remily at 503-588-6050 Ext. 7152. _________________________________________
