Israeli Attack on Gaza

It is time for the U.S. to re-examine its lockstep support of Israel.

(SAN FRANCISCO) - 'Israelis' are all too often portrayed by news media as a single like minded group and nothing could be farther from the case.

In response to Israel-imposed apartheid, Hamas shoots rockets into Israel, causing a disproportionate response, which in turn causes worldwide condemnation, further isolating Israel from most of the world.

A ceasefire will probably be negotiated, calm will again result for a short while, and then the cycle of violence will be repeated ad infinitum.

And Israel will have another excuse for not engaging in meaningful peace negotiations with the Palestinians.

It is time for the U.S. to re-examine its lockstep support of Israel.
