Salem Police Arrest Suspect in Murder For Hire Plot

(SALEM, Oregon) - Connie Lynn Anderson, 33 years of age, of Salem, was arrested this afternoon without incident after she was picked up at Independence Rehabilitation & Healthcare where she worked.

She has been charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Solicitation to Commit Murder, Attempted Aggravated Murder, and is being booked into the Marion County Correctional Facility.

The investigation began October 26th when her ex-husband, 36 year old Kip Anderson, of Corvallis, contacted the Corvallis Police Department and informed them that a mutual acquaintance had warned him that Connie Anderson was trying to hire someone to kill him.

The Corvallis Police Department notified Salem Police Detectives.

Salem Police Department detectives introduced Detective Corporal Kevin Hill, of the Street Crimes Unit, to Connie Anderson. On November 11th, Connie Anderson agreed to pay Hill an undisclosed amount of money to have Hill murder her ex-husband.

At no time after Kip Anderson contacted the Corvallis Police Department was he in any imminent danger as police monitored the situation closely.

The Andersons had been married for over ten years and have two children from that marriage. They got divorced just over a year ago.
