War is a Racket: Libya, The Real Story

(ELLSWORTH, Maine) - This 22 minute video is well done. I would like to fill-in a few of the blanks, and elaborate on the message. If one looks at the countries that General Wesley Clark mentions are to be invaded in the next five years (which are now up), included Iraq, Libya, Iran, etc. (Clark is told this "classified" information in the hallowed halls of the Pentagon by another top brass.)

The key thread that LINKS these countries together? ...their attempt to break the dollar monopoly.

President Hussein planned to stop trading in dollars for their petrol and use euros. This sealed his fate. Qaddafi planned to stop trading in dollars and to only use dinars - this sealed his fate. (Note: the swift smooth transition to a new banking system, supposedly during a revolution in the video).

Finally Iran. Iran has not been the aggressor in wars for well over 150 years, and in 2006 was the world's 4th biggest oil producer. They are also "trying to break the dollar monopoly." (John Pilger, "Iran:The Next War," New Statesmen.

For those who have been active in the Occupy Wall Street Movement (OWSM), in the Ellsworth area of Maine, I have been distributing the front and back cover of a book by Ellen Brown called: The Web Of Debt: The Shocking Truth About Our Money System And How We Can Break Free, 2008. (North Dakota is a success story in this "breaking free.")

Ellen Brown weighs in on the reason there are these "drumbeats" for war with Iran. The international corporate media justifies this aggressive stance despite the December 2007, National Intelligence Estimate (NIE), that Iran "was not developing nuclear weapons." She documents the fact that: " a global web of debt spun from compound interest is key to maintaining the 'full-spectrum dominance' of the private banking monopoly currently controlling international markets." (Web Of Debt, pps. 406-7).

Ellen brilliantly relates it to the Project for the New American Century (PNAC)," which links America's 'national defense' to suppressing economic rivals." (The fear of the international bankers is that The Islamic Republic of Iran has a state-owned central bank, and "has led the way in adopting the principles of the Koran as state government policy, including interest-free lending." (Web of Debt p.406). What a concept eh?! Interest -free money.

Until we understand how we are ALL trapped in this Web Of Debt (including Ireland, Greece, Portugal, Italy etc.), and act on solutions (which some States in the USA are trying to enact), based on ideas presented by such authors as Ellen Brown, there is little hope. So, while it is extremely important that we keep the OWSM alive and well, we also need to understand how it relates to the ongoing events on the international financial stage.

Finally, if I was able to attend the documentary Inside Job playing at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Ellsworth on Thursday, November 17th, I would have shared this perspective. Hopefully, the forces for solving these issues will become common knowledge. It is up to us.
