Little Tops No. 27 Duck Golfers in Pac-10/SEC Challenge Second Round

( STANFORD, California) - The No. 27 University of Oregon women’s golf team stood in 18th place after the second round of the Pac-10 / SEC Challenge Saturday at the Stanford Golf Course.

Oregon shot a 22-over score of 306 on the par-71 course and dropped two positions in the overall standings (307-306-613) in the field that that featured seven top-10 teams among the 17 ranked top 40 this week by Golfstat.

For the second straight day, No. 5 UCLA paced the team standings and added eight strokes to its lead (285-281-566) over No. 26 Auburn (second, 286-289-575). No. 3 Alabama followed in third place (289-286-575), three strokes ahead of No.13 Arizona (fourth, 286-292-578).

Individually for UO, senior Kendra Little logged the team’s lowest score of the tourney so far – a one-over 72 – to move into a tie for 35th place (76-72-148).

In Saturday’s second round, Little carded a pair of birdies on the par-4 10th and par-5 12th holes, and added 13 par scores (#1-4, 6, 8, 11, 13-18) and three bogeys (#5, 7, 9).

Freshman Raphaela Dyer climbed 10 places Saturday into a tie for 49th place (76-74-150), and was followed in the overall standings by junior Ashley Edwards (68th-t, 73-80-153), sophomore Avery Sills (101st-tie, 82-81-163) and senior Monika Graf (104th-85-80-165).

Overall on the individual leaderboard, Vanderbilt’s Marina Alex improved a place and moved into the lead (66-70-136), by one stroke ahead of Auburn’s Cydney Clanton (second, 68-69-137), while first day leader Joanne Lee of Cal dropped to third overall (65-73-138).

Looking ahead, the Sunday’s final round begins with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
