(SALEM) - Rain is forecast through next Monday, though lighter showers are expected after Wednesday. The water on the roadways may recede, but many will remain closed until further notice. Here is the latest state highway update. In Lane County • Both lanes of U.S. 101 between Florence and Yachats are expected to open at 5:00 PM. A 7:00 AM mudslide at milepost 174, 10 miles south of Yachats, closed the road. In Lincoln County • Highway 229 remains closed about 10 miles north of Siletz because of high standing water. The most impacted area is between mile points 14.5 and 16.5. In Tillamook County • Highway 53 is now open except for milepost 3 to milepost 5. That section of highway remains closed due to a sunken grade. • OR 6 remains closed from milepost 4 to milepost 39 because of multiple slides, debris on the road and trees down. OR 6 in Tillamook is also closed at milepost 1 because of high standing water. ODOT crews are working from both ends of the highway cleaning up slides and debris, and assessing damage to the roadway. • U.S. 101 at milepost 64 to 65 in Tillamook is closed because of high standing water. A local detour is in place. • U.S. 101 is closed at milepost 44.73 in Nehalem because of high standing water. In Clatsop County • A sinkhole has closed the westbound lane of U.S. 26 about 21 miles east of U.S. 101 in Clatsop County. One lane of traffic remains open with flaggers directing two-way traffic through the area. • On U.S. 101 south of Seaside in the Beerman Creek area, restrictions remain in place because of high standing water. No low profile vehicles such as cars and mini vans are permitted between milepost 23 and 25. • U.S.30 in Clatsop and Columbia counties is being used as a detour route for Washington SR 4, which is closed because of weather-related hazards. (Note: with the high tide receding late this afternoon, ODOT is hoping to open U.S. 101 locations that have been closed because of high standing water)
